Yamaha, in all their wisdom, designed and installed their helmet lock before considering the use of one of their most popular accesories, saddlebags! Once the left saddlebag is installed, the helmet lock becomes inaccesable. I removed the lock from its original position and re installed it to a longer bolt in the lower left license plate hole. Use locktite and most thieves won't want to spend the time trying to get it off!
