ALAN HUFFMAN
Alan was a special man, he is truly missed, its not often someone gets to live as full a life as he did, but its also a shame to lose him when he was still so full of life and ambition. I enjoyed the time I spent with him helping him build the speedster and various other bits and pieces for his toys going to Bonneville for Speed Week, swap meets and the vintage races I will never forget those good times. Alan filled a hole in my life these last few years not only as a friend but as a mentor he was always proud of the work I could do for him, one of the things my father never could do. It helps to have friends that can be proud of you and you of them. I feel bad because he never got to see the newest top secret Model A engine I was building I only kept it a secret to surprise him. I know I will remember him fondly anytime I see a Model A or drive one of my Model A's. Mike Carrothers, Pete Gutoski, and I used to call him the Model A Mechanic of Cottage Grove. I hope you can use this picture please tell Laverne that if there is anything I can do to be of help to please call and let me know. By: John Barrong
